CONOSCI LA WEBARCHIA?

Partecipo per gioco da qualche giorno ad simulazione in web di democrazia diretta. E' un gioco davvero divertente e una straordinaria palestra di politica vera, nel senso della Polis greca. Non ci sono gli ideologismi ma ognuno deve cimentarsi nel tradurre in fatti quelle che considera le sue idee. Ne vien fuori uno spaccato non tanto felice della nostra maturità politica: Questo gioco andrebbe fatto nelle Scuole dell'obbligo!

Intanto in pochi giorni posso vantarmi di essere diventato Leader della prima tematica ossia degli Affari Costituzionali e Ordinamento della Repubblica. Ho scritto la Legge Elettorale che ha preso al momento più voti ed è un Sistema Uninominale come piacerebbe a Pannella ma non secco bensì con il doppio turno.

Avendoci preso gusto ho proposto qualcosa di molto più difficile ed ho toccato il massimo dei Tabù, quello sull'Articolo 1 della nostra Costituzione. L'Italia fondata sul lavoro. Ovviamente mi stanno massacrando ma il dibattito è molto acceso e ne valeva la pena. Al momento perdo ma con un buon consenso di quasi il 25% dei votanti (e l'astensione di un altro 25%). Temevo peggio. SE VOLETE RAGGIUNGERMI E MAGARI AIUTARMI A VINCERE (o a perdere?) SCOPRIRETE ANCHE VOI QUESTO GIOCO (ne iniziano a parlare anche tv e giornali...).

CON IL CHE SAREBBE STATO PEGGIO

La parte migliore di Castro è quella del paternalismo dispotico e nazionalista, per intenderci quella che emerge dal film di Oliver Stone. Ma è bene non simpatizzare mai per i tiranni e quindi è bene dare a questo giudizio un segno politico negativo. Anche Mussolini sembrava accettabile all’Occidente liberale prima che facesse scoppiare la guerra mondiale come alleato organico di Hitler e dell’Impero Nipponico. E la maggior parte degli italiani lo adorava come i tedeschi Hitler e i giapponesi l’Imperatore. Solo che il giudizio storico su Fidel Castro potrà essere più benevolo, collocando la sua azione nel quadro del rapporto radicalmente insano tra le due Americhe, quella del Nord e quella del Sud. E le responsabilità degli USA in questo non sono da poco. Speriamo di poter vedere Obama in azione. Saprebbe riscattare 60 anni di Presidenza americana che non brillano mai per valore? Personalmente non ho mai visto nemmeno l’astro di Kennedy, martirizzato dall’attentato ma incapace sia di fermare il comunismo (il muro di Berlino, Cuba) sia di fermare la guerra e l’appoggio ai regimi totalitari di destra (Vietnam e Sudamerica). Insomma incapace di una vera alternativa democratica e di sinistra all’anticomunismo reazionario. L’unico valore dei Kennedy è nella politica interna mentre il peggio è in quella estera. E dopo Roosevelt questa connotazione per me grandemente negativa ha connotatato tutto il Partito Democratico. Ho purtroppo paura che anche Obama nasca sotto questo segno. Ma torniamo a Fidel Castro.
Quello che mi preme dire è che la parte peggiore di Fidel Castro è quella più vicina al Che. Il quadro della guerra fredda spiega molto ma è anche a causa di suoi compagni di lotta, come Che Guevara, che questa svolta comunista ha luogo. Se gli USA in Cile come in Vietnam avessero sostenuto la nascita di una borghesia liberale e moderna, di una democrazia con un libero mercato, probabilmente Fidel Castro sarebbe stato loro alleato. Ma questa è una storia impossibile, nemmeno immaginabile. Mi serve solo a dire che, contrariamente a quanto pensano i molti se non i tutti, se la svolta comunista di Cuba fosse stata realmente motivata dalla ideologia al potere, piuttosto che dall'alleanza con l'URSS, il regime sarebbe diventato ancora più dispotico, tirannico e coercitivo di quanto è stato. E non è Fidel l’uomo che segue questa strada ma il Che. Il divario tra i due è proprio qui. Guevara capisce che il socialismo reale ha poco a che fare con l’utopia comunista, mentre a Fidel interessa solo lo scenario strategico utile a non soccombere agli USA. E’ quindi proprio la buona fede e il fervore del Che Guevara che avrebbe riservato il peggio a Cuba. Fede e Fervore che non avrebbero potuto produrre altro che un nuovo Terrore. Ma la storia non si fa con i se e non potremo mai sapere se un Che al potere sarebbe stato peggio o meglio di un Pol Pot o tanto umano da ricredersi sul comunismo provocando una catastrofe come a Praga. In ogni caso per il popolo cubano sino alla caduta del Muro non poteva andargli meglio ma peggio. Resta infatti il dato di fatto che il comunismo di maniera di Fidel Castro ha salvato il popolo cubano dal peggio ma non dal male di un regime comunque tirannico anche se paternalista e in fin dei conti moderato.

L'ABORTO E' COME LA GUERRA...

Dispiace leggere una lettera come quella di Olga Andreoli e non condividerla per niente. Dispiace perché sarebbe comodo essere d'accordo con chi il disagio e il dolore di un'esistenza lo vive sulla propria pelle. Si dovrebbe tacere ma si può! E' Olga che ha voluto prendere la parola e per rispetto nei suoi confronti è giusto risponderle senza mezze misure.
Innanzitutto una questione di stile. Ferrara come Berlusconi lo si può offendere senza timore ma offendere una persona nel suo handicap e con tale veemenza (coglioni troppo piccoli e mammelle troppo grosse) non è lecito. Altrimenti sarebbe lecito dire ad Olga di stare zitta perché ha il cervello troppo piccolo.
Ora Olga mi sembra abbia dato ampia prova di saper usare molto meglio il suo cervello di tanti che "mezzi tonti" (come lei si definisce) non sono. E per entrare nel merito della sua lettera vorrei ricordare che il più grande scienziato del nostro tempo. Stephen Hawking è affetto dalla sclerosi laterale amiotrofica e condannato da questa malattia alla completa immobilità, potendo esprimersi e lavorare solo grazie ad una cannuccia in bocca. Questo non gli ha impedito non solo di sedere sulla cattedra di Newton come astrofisico di fama internazionale ma anche di diventare uno dei pochi geni del nostro tempo capace di comunicare con il grande pubblico, scrivendo più di un best seller suì più complicati grattacapi scientifici del nostro tempo.
Basterebbe questo a smentire l'argomento che una vita da handicap non valga la pena di essere vissuta ma francamente questo argomento non convincerebbe nemmeno me. E' sempre troppo comodo parlare del dolore di altri.
Quello che trovo invece insopportabile di questo dibattito è la confusione dei termini in discussione. Argomentare come fa Olga Andreoli a favore dell'aborto portando come argomento le difficoltà a vivere di un handicappato è assurdo. Non si può nemmeno lontanamente pensare ad uno Stato che per ragioni di tal natura levi la vita a qualcuno. Da qui all'eugenetica nazista manca davvero poco.
Io in questo la penso come Pier Paolo Pasolini. A pochi giorni dal voto per il referendum Pasolini scrisse sul Corriere della Sera un editoriale esemplare. Ne riassumo a memoria il contenuto o almeno quello che si radicò in me che all'epoca non ero nemmeno maggiorenne e non votavo. Nessuno, scrisse Pasolini, mi convincerà che l'aborto non sia un omicidio. Potete usare tutti gli argomenti scientifici che volete per me tale rimane. Nonostante ciò io voterò a favore di un aborto legalizzato e assistito perché questo mi impone di fare la mia coscienza civile.
Aggiungo io: l'aborto è come la guerra. Non si può rimanere puliti e pretendere di discuterne la necessità che la rende giusta. Fanno tutte schifo. Eppure c'è un dovere civile che impone di farle quando non farla risulta peggiore. Nulla rende un aborto giusto! Se non quello che salva la vita ad una donna. Nella maggior parte dei casi l'aborto è una schifezza ma non spetta allo Stato decidere nel merito. Lo Stato deve garantire alla persona alcuni spazi di manovra nelle scelte etiche. E l'aborto come molti casi di eutanasia sono uno di questi. L'errore di Ferrara è quello di ricadere in una domanda di Stato Etico. Per tutto il resto lui ha ragione, non ci si può lavare le mani da ogni dovere morale sapendo che tanto c'è l'aborto. Vale per le prostitute come per una minorenne. Ma questo è un problema della società e non un problema di norme legislative. Una legge che garantisca un aborto legalizzato e assistito è una legge civile. D'altro canto se Ferrara come argomento porta quello citato da Olga Andreoli di uno Stato che disponga "procedure, strutture e persone in grado di" spiegare alla povera sfortunata che "il suo rifiuto di maternità" può essere superato "con argomenti solidali di tipo scientifico, assistenziale e psicologico."; bene, caro Ferrara, come può questo Stato dialogare con la donna sfortunata se veste i panni dello Stato repressore e con l'arma del reato penale? Di mio aggiungo che credo davvero poco in questo meccanismo che Ferrara invoca. Sappiamo tutti quanto possa essere fastidioso e inefficace. Ci si vuole far carico delle vite inespresse che l'aborto lascia per strada? Si vogliono creare nuovi orfanotrofi o istituti per giovani madri? Stiamo parlando allora di Stato sociale e non più di aborto. E credo che abbiamo tutti maturato la consapevolezza che in questi interventi valga più il principio della sussidiarietà che non quello dell'intervento diretto. Non vorrei essere nel panni di quella donna che non solo ha deciso di abortire ma deve anche sorbirsi un assistente sociale di turno o uno psicologo della mutua. Che sia invece la società civile a rispondere a questo impulso etico, Lo Stato non potrà fare altro che riconoscerne la validità e se capace di finanziarla e aiutarla. Ma per quanto mi riguarda avrebbe pari diritto di considerazione etica e assistenziale anche un sostegno psicologico alla donna che l'aborto ha scelto infine di portarlo a termine. Esattamente come un soldato tornato da una guerra di prima linea dove ha dovuto uccidere se non massacrare. A queste condizioni sarei favorevole alla estensione della dichiarazione sui diritti umani anche alla vita concepita. Ed in questo torno a non essere d'accordo con Olga, nessuna vita merita di non essere vissuta. O quantomeno nessuno può dirlo se non sulla sua ed una madre su quella che porta in grembo (che per quanto mi riguarda è sua sino a quando non resta che tagliare il cordone ombelicale).

LA RIVOLUZIONE IN BICI

Lo confesso: sono completamente votato alla causa della bici e della mobilità sostenibile. Dopo l'esperienza di una vacanza in Olanda il morbo ha preso l'intera famiglia. Cosa ne sarà ora delle piste ciclabili a Bari? Per non parlare della modesta introduzione di Bike Sharing. Siamo stati a Parigi questo agosto che l'avevano introdotto ed era fantastico. Ve ne era uno ogni 300 metri con mappa per raggiungere il successivo. Ora anche Londra si vota a questo strumento straordinario per cambiare le nostre città. E pensare che è l'idea più semplice del mondo! Questo è un ottimo video che ho trovato in rete. Notare la scena dell'attraversamento delle strisce pedonali in bici. Non capita dunque solo a Bari!



Vista la scena delle strisce pedonali da attraversare in bici? Non erano fermi per inciviltà degli automobilisti ma c'era il semaforo. A Bari invece puoi aspettare di morire ma non ti lascia passare nessuno. Le strisce non sanno cosa sono. Noi in bici le attraversiamo portando le bici a mano in 4, in fila indiana in 4. Vi giuro che cercano lo stesso di passare e che non rallentano vedendoci, anche se occupiamo tutto lo spazio. Ovviamente a me tocca fermarmi al centro a mo' di "imponimento" e lasciare che i bambini abbiano compiuto il pericoloso attraversamento (in Svizzera saranno pazzi ma si fermano- non rallentano si fermano! - pure se sulle strisce non c'é nessuno! una sana civile via di mezzo è chiedere troppo?).

A young man, a student of journalism, is sentenced to death by an Islamic court for downloading a report from the internet. The sentence is then upheld by the country's rulers. This is Afghanistan – not in Taliban times but six years after "liberation" and under the democratic rule of the West's ally Hamid Karzai.

The fate of Sayed Pervez Kambaksh has led to domestic and international protests, and deepening concern about erosion of civil liberties in Afghanistan. He was accused of blasphemy after he downloaded a report from a Farsi website which stated that Muslim fundamentalists who claimed the Koran justified the oppression of women had misrepresented the views of the prophet Mohamed.

Mr Kambaksh, 23, distributed the tract to fellow students and teachers at Balkh University with the aim, he said, of provoking a debate on the matter. But a complaint was made against him and he was arrested, tried by religious judges without – say his friends and family – being allowed legal representation and sentenced to death.

The Independent is launching a campaign today to secure justice for Mr Kambaksh. The UN, human rights groups, journalists' organisations and Western diplomats have urged Mr Karzai's government to intervene and free him. But the Afghan Senate passed a motion yesterday confirming the death sentence.

The MP who proposed the ruling condemning Mr Kambaksh was Sibghatullah Mojaddedi, a key ally of Mr Karzai. The Senate also attacked the international community for putting pressure on the Afghan government and urged Mr Karzai not to be influenced by outside un-Islamic views.

The case of Mr Kambaksh, who also worked a s reporter for the Jahan-i-Naw (New World) newspaper, is seen in Afghanistan as yet another chapter in the escalation in the confrontation between Afghanistan and the West.

It comes in the wake of Mr Karzai accusing the British of actually worsening the situation in Helmand province by their actions and his subsequent blocking of the appointment of Lord Ashdown as the UN envoy and expelling a British and an Irish diplomat.

Demonstrations, organised by clerics, against the alleged foreign interference have been held in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif, where Mr Kambaksh was arrested. Aminuddin Muzafari, the first secretary of the houses of parliament, said: "People should realise that as we are representatives of an Islamic country therefore we can never tolerate insults to reverences of Islamic religion."

At a gathering in Takhar province, Maulavi Ghulam Rabbani Rahmani, the heads of the Ulema council, said: "We want the government and the courts to execute the court verdict on Kambaksh as soon as possible." In Parwan province, another senior cleric, Maulavi Muhammad Asif, said: "This decision is for disrespecting the holy Koran and the government should enforce the decision before it came under more pressure from foreigners."

UK officials say they are particularly concerned about such draconian action being taken against a journalist. The Foreign Office and Department for International Development has donated large sums to the training of media workers in the country. The Government funds the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) in the Helmand capital, Lashkar Gar.

Mr Kambaksh's brother, Sayed Yaqub Ibrahimi, is also a journalist and has written articles for IWPR in which he accused senior public figures, including an MP, of atrocities, including murders. He said: "Of course we are all very worried about my brother. What has happened to him is very unjust. He has not committed blasphemy and he was not even allowed to have a legal defence. and what took place was a secret trial."

Qayoum Baabak, the editor of Jahan-i-Naw, said a senior prosecutor in Mazar-i-Sharif, Hafiz Khaliqyar, had warned journalists that they would be punished if they protested against the death sentence passed on Mr Kambaksh.

Jean MacKenzie, country director for IWPR, said: "We feel very strongly that this is designed to put pressure on Pervez's brother, Yaqub, who has done some of the hardest-hitting pieces outlining abuses by some very powerful commanders."

Rahimullah Samander, the president of the Afghan Independent Journalists' Association, said: "This is unfair, this is illegal. He just printed a copy of something and looked at it and read it. How can we believe in this 'democracy' if we can't even read, we can't even study? We are asking Mr Karzai to quash the death sentence before it is too late."

The circumstances surrounding the conviction of Mr Kambaksh are also being viewed as a further attempt to claw back the rights gained by women since the overthrow of the Taliban. The most prominent female MP, Malalai Joya, has been suspended after criticising her male colleagues.

Under the Afghan constitution, say legal experts, Mr Kambaksh has the right to appeal to the country's supreme court. Some senior clerics maintain, however, that since he has been convicted under religious laws, the supreme court should not bring secular interpretations to the case.

Mr Karzai has the right to intervene and pardon Mr Kambaksh. However, even if he is freed, it would be hard for the student to escape retribution in a country where fundamentalists and warlords are increasingly in the ascendancy.

Sayed Pervez Kambaksh's imminent execution is an affront to civilised values. It is not, however, a foregone conclusion. If enough international pressure is brought to bear on President Karzai's government, his sentence may yet be overturned. Add your weight to the campaign by urging the Foreign Office to demand that his life be spared.

but in reality terror and fear controls our decisions...
this is not the America that our pioneers and leaders fought and

that one moved me...
because words and ideas are powerful...

and realize that today we have "very few" leaders...
maybe none...

it inspired me...
it inspired me to look inside myself and outwards towards the world...
it inspired me to want to change myself to better the world...
and take a "leap" towards change...
and hope that others become inspired to do the same...

1 week later after the speech settled in me...
I began making this song...
I came up with the idea to turn his speech into a song...
because that speech effected and touched my inner core like nothing in a very long time...

because words and ideas are powerful...
I just wanted to add a melody to those words...
I wanted the inspiration that was bubbling inside me to take over...
so i let it..
I wasn't afraid to stand for something...
to stand for "change"...
I wasn't afraid of "fear"...
it was pure inspiration...
so I called my friends...
and they called their friends...
in a matter of 2 days...

Usually this process would take months...
a bunch of record company people figuring out strategies and release dates...

but this time i took it in my own hands...
so i called my friends sarah pantera, mike jurkovac, fred goldring, and jesse dylan to help make it happen...
and they called their friends..
and we did it together in 48 hours...
and instead of putting it in the hands of profit we put it in the hands of inspiration...
then we put it on the net for the world to feel...
When you are truly inspired..
